Origins
In 1919 Mr. Ramon Leonte Baez started a general store in the city of Bani. This General store grew as a result of the importation of foreign goods and industrial supplies to the local newspaper and agricultural supplies for the local growers.
Agricultural Seeds and Supplies
The importation and distribution of agricultural supplies, seeds, agrochemicals and tools was the main business for Mr. Baez during the 30's and 40's. Mr. Baez was a pioneer in the development of vegetable hybrids that produced efficiently in the several geographical areas of the Dominican Republic. Mr. Baez is responsible for importing the first flower bulbs from Europe that started the flower growing industry in the Dominican Republic. He also developed most of the onion, tomato, lettuce and many other vegetable varieties presently planted in the country. Our company is no longer involved in the Agricultural Supply Business
Graphic Arts (Our Current Core Business)
The industrial revolution combined with the intelectual and editorial needs of the BANI province prompted Mr. Baez to import ink and lead for the local newspaper, this started the tradition that has been the trademark for the company ever since. His company took on the challenge of introducing the Offset process in the 1960's, this was the spark for a very large and powerful printing industry in the Dominican Republic today. We are today, the oldest stablished Printing Equipment and Supply Dealer/Agents/Distribuitors in the country and enjoy the most desiered market position in most of the product lines and areas that we participate in.
Fiduciary & Electronic Security
The knowledge acquired by three generations involve with the printing industry and an impeccable business and personal ethical record, made the company uniquely qualified for becoming a mayor supplier to the market and the government of fiduciary documents. The company has supplied banknotes, coins, passports & high security identification to the Central Bank, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Immigration Department. In 1998, the company started an “Electronic Security Division”. This new business unit serves the large private and government institutions that have the need for controlling their premises as well as implementing building automation systems, in order to safeguard the well being of their workforce and their physical assets. The expertise gained in this area has been rewarded with the installation of the largest multi building centrally controlled Access-CCTV-Alarm system in the Dominican Republic. A Central command and control room for monitoring the largest financial group in the country. This was possible due to our well-known service record and cooperation with Honeywell, Inc. Integrated solutions for new and existing buildings are the main areas covered by this division; CCTV, Intercoms, Access Control, Alarms, Lighting controls, Power management, SCADA, HVAC controls, process controls (when related to a building operation), Fire and Life Safety, Detection, Initiation. Large institutions and Sensitive Government offices are our customers.
